When using your calculator with trigonometry it is important to choose the proper measurement for a circle. If you don’t you may as well be speaking in another language. A quick review of our circle will help in differentiating the measurements in the figures above and below.
Each measure starts from the initial arm just with different units. Degrees (360) are generally used in math since elementary school and in high school Radians (2 Pi) appear.
Gradians is an attempt to metricize the circle into 400 grades/gons. Only two students in the last year knew this. If you don't know something, ask!
Now for interest try these ratios on your calculator making sure you are in the correct measure. Each should give you the same answer.
